Improving Virtual Desktop with Hyperconvergence

August 5, 2019 / GuidesFor Team

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is one of the first attempts of creating a software-defined infrastructure. It didn’t gain as much traction as it should and it eventually faded into obscurity when cloud computing entered the stage. But according to Red Night Consulting, Modern VDI is gaining traction; cloud-based VDI is worth 3.6 billion US dollars and is expected to exceed $10 billion by 2023. Legacy VDI is a different case, but this article talks about how Hyperconvergence can give it new life. Disruption and cost constraints will make any management team hesitate to migrate to updated systems. HCI can act as a stopgap until more permanent solutions are implemented.
